"...you make your own breaks and your own luck."

I know you  are wondering what is wrong with the Buffs. Well nothing a little good fortune can’t change.  We train and play as hard as any Colorado team has before, but we have been punished by inopportune mistakes.  We do not seem to be getting the same help from our opponents.  I have heard a time or two that you make your own breaks and your own luck.  A lot of that comes from an extra step, a slide to block a shot, or a slide to turn a corner kick into a throw in for your adversary.  That is how close the game of soccer has gotten at this level.  There are a lot of very good players out there so the moment you get your opportunity to shine, you better take advantage of it because it might be awhile before that chance comes around again.

Junior Quinn Krier does everything to win the header.

Senior Maggi Steury competes for a 50/50 ball.
Sunday will be a great opportunity for us to right our wrongs against our in state rival, the University of Denver.  The anticipation of this game by our team is always at a high intensity level.  No need for the dramatic pre-game speech.  All you need to do is remind them of  the last game or just the plain history of the game itself.  We have had some classics and been on both ends of the result, so we are looking forward to this game on many accounts.  Having dropped 3 straight 1 goal games, we want to get back to winning period.  It just so happens that the DU game is next. What always helps is our fan support. Last time we played in Boulder, we had over 2,700 show up.  Grab a friend, and you can show them what passion looks like up close.  You will see plenty of that passion from the Buffs on Sunday.

Have a great rest of your week and Go Buffs!
